u should know on how to handle a meeting before, during and after the meeting...
it is the duty of the secretary to ensure that the meeting either BOD, AGM or EGM running smoothly... this is because, if the meeting failed to meet the 4 requirements to constitute a valid meeting, then the meeting held will be void and any transactions held during the meeting will be invalid.......
actually, company secretary is a professional body like doctor, accountant and archictect. you need at least 3 years experience in secretarial practice area and holding a license either from MAICSA , MACS and etc before u may be appointed as a company secretary. after that only u can issue your signature for any related documents. fyi, co. sec is the second important person in the company as they are the person that the CEO will be refer for any ambiguity and solving any problems occured in the company as well as conducting the flow of the meeting... the salary also very handsome :)
if u feel very interested to make company secretary as ur dream job... u can apply to take MAICSA in uitm to get the license and of cos it is for bumiputera only!! :) the fee is quite low as u compare to other institution which offer such course.. it may cost u more.. believe me!!... u also have to pay for MAICSA membership.. but it is very worth as u can use all the fascilities provided by the MAICSA office which is located somewhere around Midvalley... the best thing is that MAICSA will pay back all the fees doing the course if u had completed the course within the time given.
the market of the job is very high as fyi, every company should have at least one company secretary and it has been stipulated in the Companies Act 1965. Current statistic showed that there are 897 259 companies registered under SSM.. can u imagine how big is the market?... the job opportunities is high but the number of qualified person is quite low...
